Police officers in discussions with Asylum seekers outside Napier Barracks after intelligence was received that there could be a protest outside the barracks with banners and signs got out to demonstrate about the poor conditions they are subjected to inside the holding centre on the 12th of January 2021, Folkestone Kent. Police spent all day outside the holding centre in Folkestone where over 400 asylum seekers are being kept at Napier Barracks in unsuitable, cold accommodation, they are experiencing mental health issues as well as being vulnerable to health conditions including COVID-19.
