Tensions are high between police and drivers who have been waiting over 48 hours for the Port of Dover to re-open, on the 23rd of December 2020, Dover, Kent, United Kingdom. The French border was closed due to a new strain of COVID-19 all travellers are now waiting to receive a COVID-19 test before they can board a ferry to Calais, France. Dover is the nearest port to France with just 34 kilometres (21 miles) between them. It is one of the busiest ports in the world.
