After each batch of fish has been prepared ready for sale the entire room is washed down and cleaned ready for the next delivery. Folkestone Trawlers, process manage and market all fresh fish that is landed into Folkestone Harbour by local Fishermen. Folkestone, Kent. United Kingdom. A seaside town founded on its fishing industry which dates back to pre-Roman times. During its heyday there were over 100 boats operating out of the busy harbour and employing over 1000 people in the town. In 2016 there are 7 working boats left, employing just over 20 people. The boats are owned and managed by Folkestone families who have a strong fishing heritage.
